Family Guy
I've watched them both and Family Guy is a funnier show!. Although some people see a lot of similarities between them the fact that they are both about a family who head man is a moron!. The similarities pretty much end there!. Family guy pushes the limits of comedy and nobody and nothing is sacred when it comes to the writing!. The diabolical mother hating baby and the sophisticated talking dog are like no other cartoon characters that have ever been created!. Seth MacFarlane, the creator and voice of many of the characters is the best and most talented at doing voice characterizations to come along since the late great Mel Blanc of Bugs Bunny fame!. Although the show is often controversial the writers have often pushed the limits of good taste but the fans adore the show!. It's has been in the top 10 of shows on Fox network since it's return!.

It's not a question as to why The Simpsons is better but more like how is Family Guy so much hideously worse!.
Family Guy has been voted Worst TV show of the week by the PTC 14 times over 2005 - 2008 which was supposedly the period where it improved!. The Simpsons has won 23 Emmy Awards over a longer time span!.
The Simpsons currently holds the Guiness World Record for Most Celebrities featured in an Animated Feature!. Too bad they didn't count mentions or bad impressions then Family Guy might've had a chance!.
Family Guy has been cancelled twice and!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.do i have to say it!?
Finally, The Simpsons has had their own feature film shown in cinemas all over the world with plans to make more while that Stewie Griffin thingy was three episodes stuck together and went "straight to Dvd", translation; no other form of media would touch it!.
