Question: Where did disney broadcast there tv shows and movies before the disney channel
Answers:
Long ago, Disney had the anthology show "The Wonderful World of Disney", which began in 1955 as "Disneyland" on ABC (it moved to NBC in 1961 and was retitled "Wonderful World of Color" and sponsored by Kodak for most of the decade;it was retitled "Wonderful World of Disney" in 1971!.!.!.it moved to CBS in 1978 and retitled again as "Disney's Wonderful World"; it got renamed "Walt Disney" in 1981 and ran until 1983)!.

It was an hourlong anthology show where Disney films (in two parts with an occasional two-hour special!.!.!.three, if the original Hayley Mills versions of "Pollyanna" and "The Parent Trap" or "Mary Poppins" were to be shown), cartoons, live-action serials and specials would air!.

In 1983, a version of the show was syndicated to local stations for four years (a little while after Disney Channel began as a pay-cable service)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

To add to Sean B in a much sloppier manner, they continued to make TV movies throughout the 80s and early 90s on The Wonderful World of Disney both on ABC, then NBC where the Harry Anderson Absent Minded Prfessor aired and back to ABC again where the Bruce Campbell Love Bug aired and older episodes that showed cartoons, Swamp Fox and Gallagher remained in syndication at least until the early 90s, I use to watch them early Saturday and midday Sundays on my local stations!. also they syndicated new cartoons like Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck in the 80s, to the 90s on even with Quack Pack and Gargoyles and when they acquired ABC shows like Doug and Recess and House of Mouse made it to ABC Saturday morning and they kicked off Looney Tunes and even recently the idea of The Wonderful World of Disney has returned to ABC!. Well ABC now is a Disney owned channel, but even before that and while Disney Channel existed they were generally associated with ABC though there was an ugly split that led them to NBC for a little while!. Mind you, Disney Channel was a better home for Disney in the 80s, so was ABC!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
