the actor who plays him,Steve McFadden had an accident while filming-he fell down some steps and shattered his hand!.eastenders writers had to quickly write him out of the show for a while to give the actor time to rest and that is why Phil wasn't on our screens for a few weeks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He was rushed to hospital after falling down a set of stairs on set!. I dont think it was too serious but i did read that he had to have quite alot of stitches and pins put into his hand!.
