Question: I'm thinking of a 90s Sci-Fi TV show or Mini-series
Alright!. I'm picturing this tv show in my head, but for the life of me I can't remember much about it except this one scene!. I'm hoping a sci-fi fan can help me out!.
What I remember is a spaceship which has many small "starfighters" docked to it!. When the fighter pilots go to man their ships, they first enter a dock area where the cockpit section of their starships sit protruding through the floor!. The pilots all run into the dock, and then the dock doors are sealed!. After the pilots are all seated in their respective cockpits, they lower through the floor individually and dock with the rest of their spaceships, and then leave the mothership!.
I can also remember a scene where a pilot is in distress and "jettisons" his cockpit section from the rest of his ship, using the cockpit section as a lifeboat to reach the surface of a planet below!.
This might have been a TV show, but something makes me think it might have simply been sort of a long mini-series!.
So who can remember something along those lines!? I would have been pretty young when it aired, but I remember the scenes described above quite well!. So what was the show, or the ship!? Thanks!

That vaguely sounds like the movie Enemy Mine, with Dennis Quaid!. Other than that, I can't think of anything!. Hope someone else can help you out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
