Although he seems amiable enough, he's still a poor man's Vic Reeves!. His whole 'surreal' act is nothing new at all!. It doesn't even break the skin of what Monty Python did!. He probably knows this and can't believe that people say things like he's the funniest man alive (which I know is opinion)!.
To compare him to comics who do a different kind of routine like Bob Monkhouse, or Tim Vine who is essentially the new Tommy Cooper, is to compare a boy to men!.
Or how about Steve Coogan who is touring this year!. Rob Bryden's standup is good as well!.
