You are correct that only 8 episodes were ordered initially but 13 more episodes were ordered after the series was relatively successfull!.
TV Guide says that 12 of those 13 episodes will technically the second half of the first season, will air beginning in January 2009, so it sounds like the first 8 episodes plus another 1 will be what is aired through September!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
