Why do newspapers, or TV presenters spoil the plots of soap operas on TV?!

Question: Why do newspapers, or TV presenters spoil the plots of soap operas on TV!?
time and again, you read or here a presenter say the entire plot for months after, maybe the death of a character, and i wonder why they do it!. Its unfair if you actually follow a soap say like Corrie or Emmerdale, then they give the whole game away!. In the grand scheme of things, it's not important i know, but its a shame when they do!. I like Corrie because its escapist nonsense mostly and when they say so and so gets carried off i think it rather spoils it, don't you!?

I agree!. Even on the front cover of the TV Mag you can't get away from it, splashed all over the front and very difficult not to read what is happening, Most annoying!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have no idea!. I've always wondered that!.!.!. even though I don't watch any soaps!.

It seems pointless to create a show, which has a steady following, and then give away the plot!. It would be MUCH more interesting to just let them find out as they watch!.!.!.!.

I find it very odd!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because story lines entice readers to watch the programme - if you know a big storyline is coming up you may stay in and watch it where as you might not have before!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The people that make the soaps must be telling ( or selling ) the story!.
All the writers and actors should be made to sign a confidentiality agreement and held to it !Www@Enter-QA@Com
