If you like comedy and romance, then your interests probably lie within the shoujo region, maybe even josei!. Based on my own experiences, here are a select few anime that may spark your interest:
Nodame Cantabile - it is a lighthearted comedy, with major hints of, although not overrdone so, romance!. It is based on the life and times of Noda Megumi, an eccentric pianist in college, and her bizarre relationship with fellow music student, conductor-to-be, Chiaki Shinichi!. Nodame , she, Noda Megumi, as she calls herself, is a very unique, hilarious character!. The show is very enjoyable and entertaining!. Although the episodes stops at chapter 50 of the manga, you can read on from there at onemanga!.com or catch the drama, too!.
Mermaid Melody - this anime is very cutesy, essentially about seven mermaids and their entanglement with villain Gaito, and their forbidden relationships with humans!. Mermaid Melody has a lot of singing and transforming in it, so you must really like shoujo to like this anime!.
Eureka 7 - it is less on the side of comedy, and more adventure/romance!. Eureka 7 follows the adventures of young teen Renton Thurston and his discovery and relationship with the corallian girl, Eureka!. It tends to get emotional and exciting, and, liking shoujo as I do, I highly recommened it!.
Gundam SEED/Destiny - like Eureka 7, this is also more towards adventure/action, although filled with plenty of romance and bishoujo to keep any shoujo fan content!. It follows first generation Coordinator (genetically enhanced human) Kira Yamato and his struggle through a mobile suit war (The Bloody Valentine War), while trying trying to keep sane!. Key relationships are Kira and Lacus, likewise Athrun and Cagalli!. GSDestiny goes on to follow Shinn Asuka and go more indepth on Athrun, Kira's closest friend!.
These are just a few, but I highly recommend them!.
