Is The Hills considered a reality tv show or is it scripted!? I haven't seen the show, what's the big deal about it!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

MTV claims the show is reality, but there is much debate!. Lauren Conrad told In Touch Weekly, "We're not trying to be The Real World!. The whole idea is that they make [The Hills] look like a scripted drama," said Conrad in In Touch Weekly's November 26 issue!. "But there's no script!. Every decision you see us make on the show is our own!.!.!. I don't act!. If I wanted to be an actress, I'd go on a scripted show and make a lot more money!."
With all the hype around Heidi & Spencer & things not adding up with her purple engagement ring & staged dates & so on & so forth or even the very basic technique of heavily editing the footage the show can hardly be called "reality!."
Names of places are changed & Lauren Conrad is practically handed so many opportunities (such as the internship at Teen Vogue) that strings are pulled, the people & their names are real, but experiences are not!.
If you look at the way the show is shot, the show seems artificial!. They are also there to catch the right moment & you can hear everything crystal clear & the drama just seems to be too perfect for TV!.
