It showed that the father was "in command"!. You'll notice it changed in the 70's, Howard Cunningham wasn't bigger than Richie (or Joanie, in the later years)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Fathers were the father in the families those days and in the 70's a lot of single parent families were getting more and more into the main stream and then the tv sitcoms changed with a lot of them with a strong mother and no father in the house, Times change!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
