Question: Does anyone think that Martha in doctor who is a Lil bit narky !?
Yey martha was back in doctor who but i think she has changed !.!.!. A LOT !

I think that when Martha originally travelled with the Doctor she was a bit in awe of him and of course she was in love with him too and she herself said that she spent a lot of time feeling like she was second best with him so that probably had a big effect on her confidence!. Being with the Doctor did nothing for her own self esteem as she constantly felt like she was being compared unfavourably to Rose!. When she realised this, she very wisely left the TARDIS and her life dramatically improved!.
But even in season 3 she's still quite independent and she stands up to the Doctor!. One of my favourite moments in season 3 is the part in 'The Sound of Drums' when Martha realises the Master is after her family and when the Doctor tries to tell her not to warn them, Martha turns around and yells at him, "I'll do what I like!"!. I love that line!!!
So I think when we see Martha in season 4 she has realised that she plays just as important a part in the universe as anybody else and the Doctor is not the prime focus of her life anymore!. She has a well respected job, a gorgeous fiancé and she has a mind of her own so if she disagrees with the Doctor then she will tell him!
I don't think she was being narky in season 4 - particularly in 'The Stolen Earth' and 'Journey's End' - she was just reminding the Doctor that she had an important part to play in protecting the Earth (having gone through hell to save it once before on her own) and she quite rightly deserves some respect for what she does instead of having the Doctor yell at her and tell her that she's wrong!.

well loads of people see martha in different ways i for one do think she changed because of being around the world in exactly a year and seeing the way that everyone is scared of the master she has lied to the most evil time lord in existance and has no fear!.but being in U!.N!.I!.T!. and seeing the war the evil and everything!.!.!.she has definatly changed since smith and jones!.!.!.

She has grown and because of being a companion to the Doctor they have given her a lot of responsibility in UNIT!. Perhaps too much!. Being in Torchwood with Jack will bring her down a bit!. It is not military so they wont jump when she barks!. The Doctor doesn't mean as much to most of them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I was never a big fan of Martha to begin with, but yes, I do see where you're coming from there!. It looks like she might become a regular in Torchwood, so the writers might have been setting up her personality to fill a role they want someone to play in that storyline!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
