Why is Jay Leno being forced out at NBC?!

Question: Why is Jay Leno being forced out at NBC!?
I've read several articles about the upcoming change at NBC that talk about Jay Leno perhaps 'jumping ship' to another network to be the late-night host!. It sounds like he doesn't want to leave, but the network is moving Conan O'Brien in!. Are there any articles or stories online that describe why NBC is making the choice they are!? I don't understand why they would force Leno out if he doesn't want to go!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
The contract that Conan O'Brien signed in 2004 assures that he will either be host of The Tonight Show in 2009 or receive a cash buyout, estimated to be about $45 million!.

NBC apparently believed that Leno would retire by 2009 and that Letterman also would be out by 2010!. The latter is important because while Leno has better ratings than Letterman, it is speculated that Letterman would beat O'Brien!.

Why NBC thought that Leno (or Letterman) would retire on anything but his timetable is unclear!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The decision has already been in the works for a long time now!. It's a fantastic idea to switch things up, keep people interested!. also, it's about time Conan got Leno's job!! He's been the funnier man with the later time slot / smaller studio for way too long! Leno is old and set in his ways like my cat, but he's made plenty of dough to retire on at this point, and his show isn't very funny anymore, so I'm surprised he wants to go through with a network switch!. You gotta' love the CONE ZONE!, and old cats I suppose!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I read one artical saying they're forcing him into 'retirement' from NBC, but he technically doesn't have to retire all together!. So he's probably trying to find another network to become the late-night host so he doesn't have to retire all together!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I read somewhere that NBC wanted a younger person for that spot!. I really think there making a mistake!. Right now Leno's the king of the late talk shows and second place is way, way, way back!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This morning on The View they said he's being pushed out because NBC thinks he's too old to appeal to the only age group that counts with advertisers: 18-49!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think he is retireing and Conan is taking over!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Their gonna give Maury his spot to do more paternity tests and Ricky Lake is gonna get her old spot back on fox!.!. HaHaHa!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

as long as Letterman doesnt go anywhere im happy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
