remember the old series the doctor could never get the TARDIS to go where he wanted!? now he can get it to go where and when he wants too!. when did that start!? thanx!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He actually began to gain some control during the time of the 2nd Doctor, Patrick Troughton, when his telepathic link began to develop, although he was still never sure where he would end up!.
He gained full control of the Tardis at the end of the 10th Anniversary story "The Three Doctors"!. Before that, the 3rd Doctor had been exiled to Earth by the Time Lords, who removed his ability to operate the Tardis, including dematerialization codes, e!.t!.c!. At the end of that story, however, the Time Lords were so grateful to the Doctor for saving them from destruction by the back hole that Omega had created, that they restored all the Doctor's knowledge of the codes and how to operate the Tardis!. It seems they went further though, because after that the Doctor could control the Tardis well enough to land approximately where he wanted to go!.
By the time he became the 4th Doctor, he had such an expert level of control that he could even manage very exact short jumps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think that the doctor no 9 gained control of the tardis a little bit and it has gradually got to go wherever the doctor wants now! i also think that maby when he really needs to get somewhere the Tardis always breaks down a lot of use that is ay!

Strange allright, considering the tardis was all about not working properly and taking the doctor to all sorts of places he hadnt programmed in, maybe that screwdriver is better than i gave it credit for, XXWww@Enter-QA@Com
