Question: Emmerdale!.Will it be the same without Jack Sudgen!?(Clive Hornby)!?
I was saddened to hear of clive hornby`s death last week!.
I knew he was ill,but had no idea what was wrong,and the news he died was a surprise!.
I think,sadly,he was already struggling in the soap,as so many new chracters had come in with huge story lines!.
I sometimes crave the old days of Emmerdale Farm,with annie,joe,matt,dolly etc,etc!.
I just think,he was almost a sideline act in the end,as he had so little to do since the marriage went wrong,and he lost the house,and was only almost bit part acting in the end!.
A sad end to 28 years service to yorkshire television!.

I can recall when Clive replaced the original Jack, we didn't think it would be the same then either but he took over the part well !.!. I agree the new characters seem to dominate the script as they jostle to make a name for themselves in the popularity stakes and I can remember thinking just lately that Clive wasn't looking too happy, seemed to be a little pale and clammy I thought !.!. and now this!.
Times move on !.!. the golden days when the soap first hit the screens always find a way to tease our memories of happier times !.!. usually with sad news like this!.
I hope his close family and friends will take comfort in knowing that the guy they loved brought some home comforts and contentment to the lives of many and for this we say thank you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Gosh you really have got embroiled in the character of Jack Sugden!. Clive Hornby played this character of late knowing that he was an ill man!. Speaking last year he said he had an unknown illness and would be having wee breaks from the part of Jack and that hopefully he would soon be back to full health!. Sadly this was not to be!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yes he played a good character in his time and I was sorry to learn of his death!. However, to be honest with all that has been going on since the programme changed from Emmerdale Farm to Emmerdale with it's youthful characters and 21st century living I don't particularly think the actual character of Jack will be a big miss!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
That news shocked me last week as i didn't even know he was ill! Clive was a great actor, he played Jack very well and he will be sadly missed!. I did notice his absence and thought that he was just taking a break!. I wanted him back to sort violent Andy out! It's very sad and my thoughts go to his family!. As he's not been in if for several months due to his failing health, I doubt if anybody even noticed he hadn't been about for a while!. Sorry - but that's the way things are ! ! !Www@Enter-QA@Com
I will miss him I really liked him, but it's like everything else we will get used to him not being there!.

Well personaly i dont think he did much in Emmerdale anyway!.
All he did was winge at Diane!.

my mother said more or less the same thing when I told her he died, she doesn't watch it nowadays and said he was the last of the original families that were in it and that it wouldn't be the same without him, because robert isn't in it and andy who is still in it, wasn't his biological son!. but there is victoria, of all the sugdens that are left it'd have to be her!.

I didn't know he was ill, I wondered where he had gone to on the soap but never imagined that he'd never come back from whereever he went!. I didn't watch emmerdale in the early years when the sugden family were the main characters so it'd be different for me than for someone who did!.
