Question: Whatever happened to the Golden Age of Television!?
Ok, well maybe thats stretching it!. Its not like I am 60 years old!. But I remember actually being excited to watch shows like 90210, Get a Life, ALF, Family Ties, Married with Children, the TGIF lineup (Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, Full House, etc!.!.!.) I was so excited I wouldn't miss one episode and from time to time I would actually have discussions with friends!. Nowadays TV is just meh!. If I like 3-4 shows in one year I am doing good!. If I miss a show, I don't care!. What's changed!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree with you!.!.TV is garbage now!. It's mostly reality shows about people who have little or no talent!. All those shows you named!.!.!.I used to watch those religiously too! (I'm 30 yrs old)!. I remember racing to take a bath so that my mom would let me watch The Cosby Show before bed!. I couldn't stand to miss one minute!. I've seen the drastic decline in television quality and I don't see it improving anytime soon because it's making too much money for too many people!. For now, I stick to quality shows like Law & Order that at least have decent writing and quality stars who have some talent!. I only watch maybe TV maybe 10 hrs a week!. What's to look forward to!? But I'm a sitcom lover at heart and there just aren't any good ones left that aren't old reruns (although I do enjoy Family Guy because of its parodies of the 80s and 90s)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
reality shows reared its ugly head!.!.!.I hope they will soon fade!. Sounds like we're about the same age, I miss all those shows too!. times have changed!.and as time changed,people and their preferences have changed!.morals are no longer very important!.freedom of speech is the in thing!.america is now a liberal /liberated nation!.''one nation under one!.''the one being number one!.people want to push the envelope and be ''free''to express themselves!.people are number one!.their desires and feelings come first!.if it feels good,do it!.and one thing people love to do,is act obnoxious,and spit on the previous generations that were run differently!.nowadays its anything goes!.you can do anything you want,you can be anything you want!.and often its at other people's expense!.
in previous generations,the stuff going on now,would never have been tolerated!.punishment for such blatant,disrespectful behavior would have taken place!.too bad times have changed!.no moral guidelines,no rules,no standards to be set for today's generation!.family values no longer exist!.now its political correctness,everything is relative,tolerance,the pleasure principle,the new age!.the age of ''enlightenment!.''the evolution of humanity!.humanity is NOT evolving!.we're just breaking down more and more while people's egos are evolving!.people are filled with pride and arrogance!.the human heart is growing more and more wicked!.the only evolution is the increase in evil and cruelty!.the new age of ''enlightenment,''to so many people,is growth,progress!.but the only thing that's growing,is people's foolishness and selfishness!.
and 90210 was not a morally decent show!.they were all sleeping with each other and acting like pagans throughout the series' run!.donna martin even broke her vow of so-called''chastity''and became promiscous like all the other girls!.she was no moral example!.she was a heartbreaking hypocrite!.she didnt live up to her promise to honor her ''purity!.''90210 just opened the door for other shows like dawson's creek,one tree hill,the oc,degrassi,and other shows to set an even more ''immoral'' example for young people to follow!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
