Ugh I just watched that! Amber is just excited and Phillis constantly shoots her down!. I think Phillis is just unhappy with her own life, and sees Amber's excitement and youthfulness, and wishes she could be more like that!.

I also think Phyllis isn't cool with Amber because she sees how much of a schemer she is (just like herself)!.
She isn't happy with Amber & Daniel's relationship because she knows that Amber could get him into serious trouble- and she will!.

Daniel recorded him & Amber burning the money to show Kevin so that he could prove to Kevin that the money is really gone!. Kevin wasn't there!.
I'm sure the tape will resurface in due time, but there is no logical way that the camera Devon was using could have been the same one Daniel used to record the burning- he and Lily had divorced long before that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I wondered this myself and I suspect it is because Phyllis blames Amber for some of the trouble Daniel got into!. I don't think she likes her son with him, she might think Amber is a bad influence on her boy (whom she hardly even saw grow up)!. I am waiting for the video tape of Amber, Daniel and Kevin burning the $750!.00 in the fireplace to rekindle!. As you saw, Devon was getting the video camera (which is probably Daniels old video recorder) to tape his Aunt Tyra and cousin Anna at the park!. I BET - the "money burning episode" is still on the disk that is probably still in Daniels camera!. Devon will see this and who knows what he will do with that information!. Then Amber will really be hated by Phyllis!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because looking at Amber is like looking into a mirror for her, maybe she's afraid that Amber will do Daniel Jr!. the same way she did Daniel Sr!. She looks her nose down at every female: Dru and Sharon mainly!. Or maybe she's just jealous because they all look better than she does!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
