It's either northern Arkansas or Southern Missouri!. The episodes where they went to Silver Dollar City said that it was near home for them!. Silver Dollar City is in Missouri, near Table Rock Lake and Taneycomo!.
We had gone there on a vacation when I was a kid, so we'd seen Silver Dollar City before it was on TV!.
Granny was originally a Tennessee gal!.
The funny thing was that if you wanted to shop in a real supermarket, you had to go to Springfield!. There was a little town closer called Branson, but it wasn't much more than a gas station and some houses!.
They mention Springfield as the location of a flour mill!.
