In doctor who, did the Great Time War happen between the old series and new seri!

Question: In doctor who, did the Great Time War happen between the old series and new series!?
did it happen between series 26 (old) and series 1 (the new series!?)

and if this is true, then in the previous series (series 26 and below), galifray was still a populated planet!?

also: extra added question!.!.!. the 1st doctor (william hartnell) was he the doctors first regeneration!? (was he the first body for the doctor to change into!?)

Yep, we are meant to believe that the Time War happened during the Doctor's eighth incarnation after the end of the classic series and before the new series!. In the first episode of the new series 'Rose' the Doctor appears to have only just regenerated into his ninth incarnation as when he arrives in Rose's flat he looks in the mirror and sees his new self for the first time so maybe the regeneration was due to something that happened directly before the new series in the Time War!?

All through the classic series Gallifrey was still a populated planet, yes!. There were quite a few stories set on Gallifrey and you can see the hierarchy there with the senate being in control!. 'The Five Doctors' was set on Gallifrey and it's well worth watching!. also 'Arc of Infinity' was set between Gallifrey and Earth and you can see more interaction with Gallifreyans in that story!.

The First Doctor was the original - as he describes himself in 'The Five Doctors' when he meets the Fifth Doctor!. His first regeneration was into the Second Doctor and all the subsequent Doctors have been much younger than the original!.

Hope this helps : )Www@Enter-QA@Com

We know little about the TIME WAR!. It apparently happened between the two series!. The Docotor has only given us sporadic information about it!.

The First Doctor (William Hartnell) stated during either the FIVE DOCTORS 20th ANNIVERSARRY SPECIAL or the 10th Anniversary Special THE THREE DOCTORS, that he was the Original article, the First Doctor!. He wasn't a regeneration, he was the original article!. The Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton) was the first regeneration!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

apparently the time war was between the series

Galifrey was shown several time during the classic series- first time at the end of the 2nd doctor ( "war games")
and the Trial of a Timelord multi part story took place there

I guess we have always assumed that Hartnell's dr was the first-Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Time War was between the 26th series and the 1st series!. No, Patrick Troughton was the first regeneration, William Hartnell was the first live!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
