In one episode, when they first meet Fez, Fez tells them his name, but at the same time an alarm goes off and the audience doesn't hear it, but it seems like a really long name!. Nobody wants to say it, so they just call him Fez!.

You're right, it does stand for Foreign Exchange Student, but spelled Fez cuz that's how it's pronounced!. The other characters consider his real name too hard to pronounce!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
