That's an interesting question!. I recall they actually showed people wearing them on Excelsior in Star Trek III, as I recall!. My guess has always been that Star Fleet crews don't wear them because they rely on the ship's artificial gravity and inertial dampers to stay on their feet or in their chairs, and only on experimental ships do they normally wear them!.

I imagine in real life the seat belts are left off because it's easier to shoot multiple takes without having to buckle yourself in all the time, and because throwing the crew around the bridge is a dramatic way of showing how hard the ship is getting pummeled!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Have they done a full risk assessment on the Holodeck!?
Do all the airlocks have running man EXIT signs on them!?
How often do they perform a Full Fire Drill including crew evacuation!?
What type of Fire Extinguisher do they use on the Warp Coils!?

H&S gone mad! and you made it happen!

Well done!Www@Enter-QA@Com

They don't need them, as they have a gravity drive in place, to stop them from floating about! I love "Star Trek The Next generation myself"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
