David Tennat or Christopher Eccleston?!

Question: David Tennat or Christopher Eccleston!?
Answers:
Both!. Season 1's "The Unquiet Dead" was the first Doctor Who episode that I ever saw!. That one episode had me hooked!. By the time I had watched 3 more episodes, I was quickly heading for obsessed! Christopher Eccleston was positively FANTASTIC as the Doctor!. (You knew that had to come in here somewhere!) He had the intensity of this 900-year-old Time Lord who has seen more than any individual should ever see, but he also had this innocent, child-like wonder about him that made the viewers look at their own world through different eyes and see the magic that he could see!. And he also had this flash in his eyes of a barely controlled insanity from time to time!. He could do the drama, and the rage, and the loneliness, and the humor and light-heartedness and fun!.

I was heart-broken when I found out that he only did one season!.

Then came David Tennant!. He does the rage and he does the loneliness, the humor and the fun!. He also has that sparkle of insanity in his eyes!. Watching David Tennant made the whole idea of regeneration work for me, because his Doctor is *not* Doctor #9, but at the same time you can see how the two actors are playing the same man!.

If you watch all of CE's episodes, you'll see that the writers gave him material that showed off his strengths as an actor, but that wouldn't fit with DT's Doctor!. And the same with David!. For example, in season 3, think of the two-parter "Human Nature/Family of Blood!." David Tennant was nothing short of brilliant as the human John Smith, especially in the scenes where he and Martha and Joan were confronting what his life as a Time Lord had been and would be again - lonely!. We never got to see Christopher Eccleston in an episode that required him to give that same range of emotion!. I wish we could have seen him for just one more season!.

In many ways, Christopher Eccleston will always be "my" doctor!. But I positively adore David Tennant and I hope he beats Tom Baker's record of 7 years as the Doctor!. I promise, I will cry my eyes out when the role is recast!.

Both men were exceptional as the Doctor!. Either one could land his Tardis in my yard and I would happily take off!Www@Enter-QA@Com

David Tennant is great, and if Christopher Eccleston had never taken the part on, I would have said Tennant, hands down!.

But Eccleston just has the edge, in my opinion, with more dramatic acting ability than even Tennant (remember "Dalek"!?)!. He was also blessed with some of the best lines ever (e!.g!. "lots of planets have a north", and "did I mention it also travels in time!?")!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I really liked the first one and i didnt like it when he left, but i've grown to really like David Tennant as the Doctor!. I think he's fantastic in that part and i think he makes the show!.
