Actually Rue McClanahan (Blanche) is the youngest (born in 1934)!. Then Estelle Getty (born 1923), then Beatrice Arthur (1922) and Betty White (also 1922)!.
She did have to go through a lot of makeup to look as old as she does on the show!. It took 45 minutes for Estelle to be transformed into Sophia!. The flashbacks are actually Estelle without makeup!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
