Question: Why do black girls go on reality dating shows!?
I'm not trying to be rude but I just got done watching "Farmer wants a wife" He sent the black girl home, why is there always only one black girl on these reality dating shows and why do they NEVER get picked!? Why doesn't BET do a dating show!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's always the token black, and she is put on the show by producers attempting to be diverse with the publicity photos!. They shoot the publicity photos with a black face and then eliminate her immediately!. One thing to notice, they NEVER put on black males when the date is a white chick!. Go ask yourself why and then bring that question to Yahoo!!!
As for why these sort of shows aren't on BET!.!.!.well!.!.!.I don't watch that network, and I would bet low ratings are the reason!. Dating shows probably cost more than hours of gratituous videos!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

being and African American woman myself, the reason from having conversations with others of my race, do not show ourselves on reality television is because we understand that most of the show are not reality!. Even though it says REAL TV does not equate it to what is real!.!.!.its still scripted!. And most of the time, we as Black women believe that we should not air our business on national television!. Yes there are few, but for the most part, we have our lives to attend to!. I cant speak for ALL Black women, I can speak for myself and those I have spoken with!. We are a pretty "to ourselves" kind of people when it comes to dating!. Take for instance Beyonce Knowles, She RARELY speaks of her relationship status with Jay-Z!. and BET does have a dating show called "Hell Date" on this show they get either a guy or a girl to do something socially abnormal in order to see if the date will succumb to the outlandish behavior!. In all sense and sensibility, I believe ALL reality tv shows are demeaning and give a false sense of hope!. Its just a way for a common American to make a get rich quick scheme, and most of the time a person will act out of character to get more claim to fame!.
And just a note of caution, considering the person I am, I did not take the question asked as other Black women shall!. You asked a question that needed to be asked, BUT there are some women who will call you out and go off on you because the use of color in a message, for ANY nationality in that sense, can be deemed rude and uncalled for!. I hope I was able to give insight into your wanting to understand more about African American Women and dating shows!.
