Why are there so many reality shows?!
Question: Why are there so many reality shows!?
I feel there are to many reality shows on tv!. Ever since Survivor came on the air it seams that reality shows has gotten out of hand !. I feel that they are a waste of programing and I think there should be more family oriented shows during primetime!. Personaly, I am sick of them!. Enough is enough!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

yeah!.!.!. I sort of agree!.!.!. also MTV should go back to doing exactly what their name says they are for!.!.!. MUSIC TELEVISION! they should start doing more songs than reality shows like "The Real World" or "Parental Control" (WHICH THEY EVEN ADMITTED WAS SCRIPTED BUT STILL THEY SHOW IT!!!!!!!!!!!) so yeah that is my opinion!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Reality shows are a lot cheaper than scripted television!. And right now, traditional series have ended their seasons until the fall, which happens ever year!.
But you're right, they have definitely gotten out of hand!. Most are pure crap!. The only reality show I watch religiously is The Amazing Race, but it airs so infrequently compared to others!. I guess that's why I'm not sick of it yet!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

there were a few reality shows on air before the writer's strike, but once the strike happened, reality shows boomed out of nowhere at an enormous rate!.

because reality shows dont need writers, they dont need scripts!. even though most of the shows are "fake", they are done in a realistic way!.!.!.!.hence the term "reality show"!.
once the strike happened, tv networks had to hash up new ideas to keep audiences entertained (and keep money in their pockets)!. thats why american gladiators was brought back, thats why every has been celebrity was able to get their own show, thats why there are so many damn dancing contests!.

Well, they just give people what they are asked!. If there is a big audience for a reality show, they won't think twice to do it!. Personally, I also think they are a waste of time, as you are not learning anything, and it isn't even good entertainment!. I prefer 1000 times watching a good movie or documentary!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
