I DONT KNOW ABOUT AMC LOOKING LOW BUDGET!. BUT IM A GUY AND I DO WATCH SOAPS!. MOSTLY ABC SOAPS, FOR 2 REASONS!. ONE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER WE ONLY HAD ONE TV IN THE HOUSE AND THATS ALL MY MOM WATCHED!. TWO, BECAUSE I LOVE SHOWS WITH HISTORY AND CONTINUITY!. AND 3 CAUSE I LOVE NEW EPISODES AND SOAPS ARE A NEW EPISODE EVERY DAY!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
yes men watch soaps they have been for years perhaps society says its a girl thing since women were traditionally the "house wives" and men worked outside the home!. so what was on t!.v while women stayed at home to cook and clean!.!.!.!.soap opras! that is how women got hooked and that is how it became a traditional womans daytime drama!. but then woment started working out side the home and more and more men ( due to lay offs, injury ect!.) stayed home and became the "house husbands" and what was on tv to watch !.!.!.soap opras!. so these house husbands would cook, clean and watch soaps and enjoy them as much as women do!. the only thing on during the day is soaps, talk shows and game shows!. so it is easy to see how one can become addicted!. and it is perfectly o!.k for men to watch soaps, just like its perfectly o!.k for men to wear Pink now!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
My husband and I watch Y&R together!. He actually got me watching it!. I always thought they were corny, but after watching a few episodes I really go into it and now we dvr it everyday and watch it in the evening together!. I'm not sure about the low budget thing!. I think some of the shows are trying to look like a reality show type camera shot to make it seem more real!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Sure, men watch soap operas!. Women can watch sports, so why not!? Entertainment preferences have nothing to do with gender!. I definitely wouldn't let little kids of Barbie-playing age watch soaps!.

Real men can watch soap operas if they want to!. Not a huge fan of stereotypes!. I watch soaps, and basketball, and baseball (Go Sox!) and football(Go Giants!), too!. I am a girl, am I not allowed to watch sports!?

I have watched Y&R for years and remember the first week it came on in my area, back in the day!. I haven't watched it every day or even consistantly, until my wife and I got married and I got back into the flow of watching every now and again!. Gives us an added bit of entertainment during the day while we are off work from our night shift jobs!.!.!.

I am a guy and watch Y&R every day and then I go play Football every Sunday so it dosen't make me a girly man!. I agree with the 2nd Answer I also like shows with History and a new show every day!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
