She didn't work!. They needed Alice around to deal with Jan's psychosis!. Much cheaper then taking her to a shrink!. It was always Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!. I don't think Carol knew how to turn on the stove also, so it would have been to expensive to order out dinner all the time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
No, she did not work!. She was a widow when she met and married Mike and I assume she stayed at home to take care of the girls!. When she got married she stayed at home too!.
Alice was the housekeeper for Mike and the boys!. He was also a widow and needed Alice to take care of the house and the children!.
I don't think anything was ever said why Alice stayed around!.
Later on (when the show aired in prime time in the 80's or 90's) Carol worked as a real estate agent!. I think even in the Brady Girls Get Married she was working in this industry!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
