This is what I think happened:
Amanda died when she got to the hospital after the bombing!. They are going backwards in this episode, so it kind of got confusing!. Her mother was taking/guiding her to heaven!. I think Claudia Joy was having a dream about it, although she did not know until she woke up that Amanda was dead!. I think it was supposed to be like an alternate reality type thing-Claudia Joy awoke as Amanda was "leaving"; she knew "before she knew" that her daughter was dead!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's brilliant! It kept you wondering, and assuming, throughout the entire episode!. You keep thinking it is going to be the bar owner!. You see that Marilyn dies, of course, but you assume that it was also her husband and her boyfriend!. It kept us on the edge and wondering!. The twist at the end brought about shock and emotion!.!.!.which is what all the characters were feeling!.!.!.it really brought you in to the sense of what they were dealing with!.

The whole story line of Harvard etc!. was the mothers dream while she was in the coma - kind of a what should have happened - what her subconscious wanted to happen!. At the end where Claudia Joy and Amanda (wearing the white and black dress) were talking was when her spirit visited her mother and she walked into the light and died!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

after amanda walked in the hump bar @ the end of season 1 she was the closet to the bomber so she got a lot of the impact!.!.!.so she died, i know i was confused until the end too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The daughter died!. Neither she or her mom would leave the bar without each other!. She was close to the bomb when it went off!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
