Question: Family Guy Humour!?
How do you find the humour on family guy!?
I actually like the show on the whole, its defenatley something i can watch any time but how do you feel about some of its humour!? i think that some humour that they use is actually quite witty and funny such as the whole 'cool wHip' bit between brian and stewie but some jokes are totally ridicolous, like that damn chicken fight bit!. i think that if family guy stopped trying so hard and just went with the flow and not try too hard to try to be funny i think it will be a whole lot beter show!. these silly overrated jokes that they do seem to amuse people who are not very intellectually stimulated!.
however The simpsons, seems to relax and let the humour flow when it is appropriate, which is why i think it has been around for so long!. i doubt family guy will last that long!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree a lot of jokes are very over the top and i tend to find them forcing cheesy jokes, some are really funny Adam West never ceases to amaze me and there are a lot really intelligent (and every now and then too complicated for the demographic they are aiming at) and well thought out jokes in the series but i think the show, since it revolves around jokes(mostly one liners) needs to think a little more about them since they don't really have a story line to fall back on like the other shows

It is all a matter of taste, I think Family Guy is hilarious and it is purposefully not as "intellectually stimulating" as The Simpsons!. With the world being so serious and politically correct these days, I find it totally refreshing to laugh at juvenile or shocking and inappropriate humor!. A lot of the jokes, such as the chicken fight, are satiring different things from pop culture so if you dont know what they are parodying it will obviously not be that funny!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yeah, the chicken fight bit was just stupid!. I actually really like Family Guy and it makes me laugh most of the time!. The one thing I really don't like about it though is the way they sexualise Stewie (you know, the whole "What, this!? Oh, it's just my package!. God delivered it, I signed for it" line of humour)!. Fine, have him as a psychopathic character, but they could have left the lewd innuendos for the adult characters!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think family guy is great, but I think that the story writing is better on shows like South Park and the Simpsons!. The thing I dont like about family guy is when they always cut to these random clips that are supposed to be funny!. They are funny sometimes, but I think they play that out!. Hmmm you know, Family Guy started in something like 1999, lasted a while and then was gone for a few years but they brought it back because fans demanded it, so I think it will stick around for a while (though I doubt as long as like the Simpsons)!. But yeah Simpsons are a LOT better!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

its okay!.!.!.i get sick of the father sometimes!.!.!.!.that grates on me!. But then again I find most sitcom and cartoon fathers/husbands always are made to be complete morons!. The stupid, often pointless, flashbacks every 15 seconds ruin the show for me!.

There is one episode where peter goes, "aw, I feel like Benjamin Disraeli" and it flashes to a revolutionary war times Benjamin Disraeli sitting at a desk writing with his quill pen and he goes " you don't even know who I am"!. That stuff is hilarious, if you get the humor!

family guy just signed another contract!. so yeah, plan on them being on the air for several more years!. the Simpson's has been around for a much longer time!. so to compare is unfair!.

if you know fox, they always try to make people watch pointless shows that have a plotline that barely reaches half the time it originlly occupated!. but to fill the void of the remaing time, they have to add in at least 5 minutes of mindless junk to entertain the lesser minded audience, and to fill up the remaining time time to make it a full episode!. for example: if you buy a family guy episode, only more than half will relate to the plot line (about 14 minutes or so), and the other time has to do with relating to when a celebrity did this or that, or when a character did this or that, or (as you said) a chicken fight, then they come back to the story, or when peter or someone gets hurt in any way, they stall by making the character take up at least 1 min!. of going owwwwwwww!. the only reasin it went off air was because they made politically incorrect jokes that entertaned millions, but worried fox!. it works in the same way as american idol, or all their (reality) shows (that include eliminating people), they come back to the show after 8 min!. of commercials, and say its down to the bottom 3 people, they stall a few more minutes, and say, we'll know after these commercials!. but i find it to be mediocrally well pieced!. but there is and episode of south park, that explains family guy hummor in a nutshell!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
