He won't be in the casket when they take him back to the Island, that's my guess!. He isn't dead though!.!.!.!.in theory!.!.!.not yet anyway, not until the flash forward!. Locke will be back!. Otherwise, what is the point of taking his body back to the island!. Perhaps the island can restore him!? The writers have acknowledged that once people leave the island they can't be killed!. Remember Michael and then Jack when he tried to jump of the bridge he was stopped by the accident!. I'm not sure if that immunity extends to those who return to the island like Michael!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think that if they took him back to the island, there would probably be some way of bringing him back to life and all the other people who were left on the island would all wonder where he had gone to before because they didn't realise he was gone (lol)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
