On TV and in movies it's sarcastic!.!.!. a joke!. Either that or the characters are outrageous enough that it's funny anyway!.
Racism can be funny in real life too if it's sarcastic and within your group of multi-racial friends!. I don't think a person of a certain race minding their own business on the subway would be very amused if you started spouting off stereotypes, even sarcastically!. Doing the same thing with a close friend of the same race can be fun and funny, especially once they start with the comebacks!.
I was the only white girl in my group of college friends for the longest time and every time I screwed something up or did something wrong or tripped!.!.!. they would always say "It's alright, Jourdyn, we understand it's because your white!." I would counter with "Don't make me send you back to Africa!" or "Didn't your mom trip over the border!?" I have a good sense of humor and didn't take offense!. They had a good sense of humor and also didn't take offense!. We laughed and it was fun!.
Somebody else may have been offended!.
In high school I was the only girl in my group, so i was fair game for "Didn't I just see you in the kitchen!?" or "I didn't know they had biology class between the kitchen and the bedroom" one of my favorites was "Oh no!.!.!. there's a wrinkle in my shirt!.!.!. anybody see Jourdyn!?" (implying I would iron it)!. They'd say that one when they saw me coming over just when I was in earshot!.
It's all about how it's said, who it's said to, who else hears it, and how tolerable people are!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It can be funny with the right group of people!. My brother is white, his best friend is black & they're always kidding with eachother!. That's what they're comfortable with!. On the other hand, a few years ago I made a joke to a very close frirnd & she wouldn't talk to me for a week!.

I'm Asian, and I've noticed that we seem to be "fair game" on Spike TV!. Other races would sue that channel to the ground!. I guess that shows that we are able to wipe our tears with our C notes!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
