The Springer show and they are flown ahead of time by a day or two so they can discuss how the program is going to go and even go so far as to rehearse everything !. No one is actually surprised on that show because they have already rehearsed it before it happens !. They are paid for their appearance and get to be flownto New York and put up in a swanky hotel with food !.
It's all just a tv show with rehearsels !.

My husband used to work at a place that three of the employees went on Springer - a guy and two girls!. They went on as husband, wife and girlfriend!. You know the story - same as every show!.
The people were just friends!. None of them were married, bf or gf!. They whole thing, fight and everything, was just a set up and totally rehearsed!.

i have not watched Jerry for years, but all the guests he uses must be actors, but in USA anything goes, its funny though, i have always wondered if some of the audience are actors too, because every time i watch it the same people tend to ask questions, if instince this chubby lady asks a question for every guest at least once per episode, and on the simpsons the same woman asked jerry a questionWww@Enter-QA@Com
Please!. Most of Jerry Springer's guests are actors hired to be stupid on camera!. I have seen the same person as a guest for three different topics acting three completely different parts!.
