I think it moved in time, not space!.
The video Locke watched in the season finale was talking about transporting the rabbit in time!. He even said that it would seem to disappear for a moment!. Furthermore, if you have played the video game a time "glitch" is suggested!. When your character is leaving the island at the end of the game, he sees his plane crashing again and wakes up conscience of what has happen on the island!.
Finally, John and Ben speak at the end of the finale about the problems that have happened since the survivors have left!. Maybe them leaving the island has messed up the "reality" of the island!. This shift in reality may allow the islanders to exist in other times and other places that they shouldn't, explaining the appearance of characters such as Claire and Charlie off of the island!. Again, this is reflected in the video game, when you are awoken by the dead girl you have been learning about the entire game!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sorry to be a stickler but Locke in fact did not move the island it was Ben!. remember he turned the crank and also the convo they had that " the person who moves the island will never come back "!. Definitely somewhere Widmore can't find it I agree there, I have no specific place I think it would be moved to though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm 100% sure that the writers KNOW exactly what will go down on Lost!. I don't care what anyone says!.!.!.!.that show is wayyyyy to put together to not know where everything is headed!.
