On the show - the Elders felt that the Charmed Ones would not be as strong if they were able to lean on Prue!. Piper needed to BE the oldest sister!. If they had access to Prue, they would not have been able to be as strong!. Remember that their powers are tied to their emotions!. A sister is different than a mom, grams, etc!.
In real life - Shannen is hard to work with!. AND even if she would have agreed to at least be in the finale, then due to the budget, others would have been cut out!. Shannen would have demanded a high price!. I think it was great the way it was!. And on a side note, even if they would have showed a PICTURE of her on the wall, they would have had to pay her the SAME amount of money!. An actor gets paid the same no matter HOW their likeness is used!.
Same thing with Cole!.!.!.!. by the time of the finale, the actor had become much more popular and would have demanded a higher pay!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I couldn't get an answer to that as well!. Their grandmother and their mother could all comeback for a visit in spirit why didn't they do the same for Prue (the character, they could have use at least a blurring image or they could have just use a double and not show the face)!. With Prue's power to astral project, they could have at least made her appear one episode!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
