I have a question about it!. In the end when Chuck was about to go spend the summer with Blair his dad told him something that made him not go with Blair or at least like make him sleep with his dad's renovation stuff w/e!. his dad basically said that he was proud of chuck for wanting to have a real girlfriend and being able to settle down, he also said that after he (chuck) returns from his trip he would have matured and he would have put all the partying in the past!.
this made chuck realize that he didnt want to "mature" and he wanted to still party and sleep around and he saw Blair as the girl who might finish that portion of his life for him!.
