Back in 1953!, the film, SALOME, wasn't supposed to have religious meaning, or a religious message at all!.
It was just a chance for "pin-up" girl, Rita Hayworth, to slink around and DANCE in a skimpy satin outfit on screen!. And Stewart Granger was a handsome male leading role at the time!.
