Ohh yeah most of the Top Five and even Top 10/12/24 get contracts of some type!. They also tour together!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
All the 12 idols that got through will get a record deal but it's not as much as from those who stayed on the show before them (the person who got voted off)!. It's what they call consolation price!. also, the reason they are given concert tours (for a year) is for them to get a chance to meet music/record producers and show them their singing ability, show what they can do and hope that they could get a record deal from that (their performance)!.
With an exemption of course just like what happened to Chris Daughtry, even though he got voted off way before 2nd placer McPhee and the winner Taylor Hicks, Music producers saw what he's capable off and lined up offering him record deals right after he left the stage!. Daughtry of-course had to do the concert tours though as well, it's part of the American Idol contract!.

OMG! I hope so, we all know that everyone would buy his CD!. The top 5 get record deals and everyone else gets record deals from places other than amarican idol!.
