They do not come close to portraying a true Mafia family!.
For example the Mafia have a code:
No one can present himself directly to another of our friends!. There must be a third person to do it!.
Never look at the wives of friends!.
Never be seen with cops!.
Don't go to pubs and clubs!.
Always being available for Cosa Nostra is a duty - even if your wife's about to give birth!.
Appointments must absolutely be respected!.
Wives must be treated with respect!.
When asked for any information, the answer must be the truth!.
Money cannot be appropriated if it belongs to others or to other families!.
People who can't be part of Cosa Nostra: anyone who has a close relative

hahhhahaaha, well, just because wikipedia says that the mafia operates like that, and just because the sopranos don't, does not mean anything because anyone in the mafia would never stick it all up on wikipedia!. Sopranos is a television show!. is anything on a drama tv show accurate!?
If you do enough mafia research, you'll see that plenty of mafia members throughout history have lied, killed, cheated, F***ed each other's wives, disrespected people, and so on!.
Nothing on earth follows specific rules other than science, and even that can deviate sometimes!. lol

Actually you couldn't be more wrong!. The Godfather accurately portrayed the Mafia in the 50's back when they really were "Men of Honor"!. This show is an accurate depiction of the Mafia TODAY!. They don't follow the rules today, one of the most famous gangsters ever John Gotti murdered his own boss, which is a big no-no in the Mob, and that happened about 18 years ago or so!. The Sopranos was actually so real that regular cable wouldn't carry it for just that reason!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
