Question: On last nights season finale, is Horatio Caine REALLY dead and is Ryan a dirty cop!?

No!.!. and I can explain why!.
The text that Ryan recieved was from H telling Ryan that his family had gotten on the plane and were headed for safety!. When his nemesis (his ex-wifes husband) shot him he used one of those alloy bullets, and since the bullet hit his glasses it stayed in one piece, because if you remmeber when those fused alloy bullets hit something cool they stay in one piece, so most likely it grazed his shoulder or some other body part, but regardless isnt life threatening!.
What this means is that H's enemy thinks that he is dead, and this now frees the CSI team to go after him for attempted murder on H, just what Horatio wanted!.

Could one of our resident forensics experts please explain how those bullets work!? In the 1/1000th of a second that they are passing through a human body, there's enough heat transfer to cause the "fused alloy" to revert to its original state and leave a dozen exit wounds in an area the size of a volleyball!? Hogwash!.
Edit: There are "frangible" rounds that have similar effect, but they don't work based on temperature!. They are hollowpoints that open based on the hydraulic effect of bodily fluids as the bullet passes through a body!. The fused alloy bullets that they showed were not hollowpoints!.!.!.
To say the "fused alloy bullets" work based upon temperature of the target is ludicrous and completely out of Calleigh's character as a "gun expert"!. What if the ambient temperature was 105 degrees!? And, think about the temperature of the burning gunpowder that is propelling the bullet!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I just watched the episode and i had to ask the same thing but i think as long as theres a next season horatio will always be alive and ryan has always been really sneaky i knew he was up to somethin when he was in the investigation room and he left out of nowhere, it looks like hes up to something but some say him and horatio planned his murder to protect his son and byw whats up with his son looking at that gun right before horatio got shot!.I cant wait til next seasonWww@Enter-QA@Com
I don't think they'd kill off Horatio!. He is the center piece of the show!. I really have no idea what is going on!. How would Ryan know he was going to the airport!? Maybe Caine's old flame told him!. That was one heckuva show!. I can't believe the M!.E!. at the beginning only had a part on the show for 45 seconds!. Lot of people getting shot last night on tv!. I'm with ipscshooter, there is no realistic way those bullets would work!. Picture Miami on a hot day!. The human body is about 98 degrees, so those bullets would fall apart on a hot day or in direct sunlight!. Not to mention the time it takes to go through a person would not give the bullet time to change temperature anyway!. Interesting concept anyway!. I do think Horatio and Ryan may be working together to stage a death and bring the shooter out in the open, but I guess we'll have to wait to find out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
the message on ryan's mobile that said it's done might have nothing to do with what happened to horatio!. we don't know where ryan went after he left the lab, it could be one big coincidence and no horatio is not dead, he's in season 7, so he can't be!. why did his son have a gun was it to shoot horatio or his step father!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
