Question: What do you believe to be the starting point of Guiding Light's long, slow, downward spiral!?
Alot of young people who haven't really seen the show when it was a real powerhouse, would point to things like the new filming technique, Tammy's death, or other things!. Some of the oldheads like me might say the cast losses in the 90's, The Santos era, dumb storylines like Rick and Abigail the deaf girl, Reva's cloning, or even Fletcher and Holly's "Meg pie" down syndrome baby!. (no offense to anybody!. I mean it was realistic, but quite depressing and unnecessary)

for me it was when they fired 3 actors-whom were fan favorites was the start for me and the last 2 yrs has only gotten worse
( the characters of Edmund /Danny/ Michelle--- funny thing is that GL has brought Edmund back twice since they fired the actor!--shows what Class David Andrew Mcdonald (edmund) has- he has never bad mouthed GL-and he was more than generous with his fans at the GL fan event I went to)
While I wasn't a danny/michelle fan I liked the character of Danny!. Now with Gus dead and Harley leaving ( or being recast) the LIght is OUT for me!. I feel sorry for the actors- being in the mist of this messWww@Enter-QA@Com

I've been watching GL since I was a teen (I'm now 39) and have watched faithfully with the exception of about 6!.5 years when I was working!. After I stopped working, I actually didn't watch the show for a while because so many actors were different from the time I last watched, so it took me a while to figure out who was who!. But once I got used to it, I've had no problems with the show!. It's just fiction and I always wonder why so many people get worked up over some changes!. We sort of have to look at soaps like a real neighborhood!.!. neighbors move away and we get new ones!. And neighbors also die!. It may take a while to get used to them, but everyone eventually does and life goes on!. (You really mentioned some old stories that I totally forgot about!.) Actors like Michael Zaslow were around for the long haul and didn't just bounce around from soap to soap!. Today's actors are all about money!.!.!. they get a better offer, they jump ship!. To me, I could care less, but there are obviously those out there who get upset about it!. There's more important things in my life going on than wondering who the next actor leaves!.
