What happened to MTV?!
Question: What happened to MTV!?
There is almost no music on that channel anymore, and all they show are stupid reality shows!. What happened to the Music part of MTV, and why is it still called MTV!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

The TV shows took off!. Mtv had shows for the last 25 years (Remote Control, etc!.) but when The Real World took off, it started to spell the end for the music!. More teens were tuning into The Real World, Road Rules, Bevis & Butthead and Real World Marathons than were watching the music!. They decided a format change in the mid-90s and started introducing more shows as time went on like Tom Green, Jackass, et!. al!. Since then, they've just introduced more shows to Mtv and less music!. Competition of the internet, BET, and cable music channels also began kicking down Mtv!.
Conversely, that was one of the reasons for the formation of VH1, to show other styles of music that didn't have room on Mtv anymore (aka more adult oriented music and older bands)!. As VH1 went the way of Mtv, they created Mtv2!.
They just keep creating channels to show the music while kids just watch the tv shows!. Mtv hasn't been about music for pretty much a decade!. Even their "Live" show wasn't getting enough ratings and they only shoot it live about two days a week!.
In my personal opinion, if they want Mtv2 to explode, put their "highly rated" tv shows on Mtv2 and go back to music on Mtv!. If the fake reality show "The Hills" and the used-to-be-relevant "The Real World" is so important to the teens, they will demand their cable comapnies carry Mtv2 for free or beg parents to buy extended cable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

you now have subscibe to extended cable channells to get MTV1, MTV2!. That's were all of the music is at!. And then even on those channells, there are too many reality shows, but they do play alot more music!. I use to be a huge fan of MTV, but reality shows has just taken over!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes the M in MTV has been long gone and it is a pity!. MTV-2 is not worth paying extra for either because it also shows too many reality shows and not enough music!. Pretty sad!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
