Doctor Who is my all-time favourite TV series so I have to say it's best, but I wouldn't miss Torchwood either since it is a spin-off from Doctor Who!. It's worth remembering that Torchwood would never have been thought of in the first place if it wasn't for it's parent series!.
I think the most recent four series of Doctor Who have been more consistent in quality than Torchwood so far!. The first series of Torchwood was a bit of a "curates egg"!. Some episodes were absolutely excellent, some were no more than average and others were very poor!. The second series, thankfully, was considerably better overall and made it obvious that Torchwood is becoming a great series in it's own right!.
The four new Doctor Who series have seldom been less than good and, during the second half of the last series in particular, have included some of the best drama seen on TV in recent years, with episodes like "Human Nature / Family of Blood", the multiple award winning "Blink" and the epic three part finale of the last series!.
We are now into the 30th series and the 45th year of Doctor Who!. It is a TV legend and a British cultural icon!. Torchwood has a long way to go before it reaches that status!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ive always prefered Torchwood for some reason!. I love doctor who aswell but Torchwood is one of my favourite shows out of everything!. I get too see captain Jack Harkness in all the episodes then :D!.
I love all the Torchwood characters aswell, they go well together and its fun finding out what the relationships between the members are like

I really like them both but i think Doctor who is better!. Doctor Who has been going for longer and is more sucsessful!. I really really really really really really really really like Torchwood though!. If you think about it some things in Torchwood would not be there if there was no Doctor Who!. Like the Doctor's hand!. (the hand in the jar)

Torchwood!. If you'd asked the same question before Catherine Tate became the assistant I'd probably have said, at a pinch, Dr Who!. But although I like Tate as a comedienne, I think she's cr*p in Dr Who!. One and a half episodes of watching her was enough!. I haven't watched any of the rest!. Can't wait for the next series of Torchwood though!. I love John Barrowman and think he's a great all-round entertainer but the rest of the cast are brilliant too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Doctor Who!. The stories in Torchwood are too often poorly written!. And the Torchwood team are annoying!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think out of the 2 id have to say Doctor Who, both have had some great stories but i lost interest half way through the last series of Torchwood, but Doctor Who has kept me glued so farWww@Enter-QA@Com
