My thoughts are that the stabbing has to be about Michael's shooting!.
There were 3 people involved!.!.!.!.Ian Devlin, Claudia, and Jerry!.
Ian's dead and we all know that dead men don't tell no tales!. The only person that link Jerry to the shooting is Claudia!. And it is not much of a leap!.!.to think that if Jason or Sonny connects Claudia to the shooting that she would also throw Jerry under the bus!. Right now he doesn't seem like a likely suspect to the Corinthos organization!.!.!.considering his ties to Jax and Carly!. Claudia is a suspect and has every motive to take Jerry down with her!.
With Ian out of the way!.!.!.they only thing that stands to expose Jerry's involvement is Claudia!.!.!.that was probably his motivation to stab Claudia!.

Jerry calls Claudia down to the waterfront to meet him and is promptly chewed out for showing up at her house!. Claudia then informs him that he is going to help her frame Anthony for Michael's shooting!. Jerry asks what's in it for him and Claudia says that once she and John are at the helm, she can decide what happens with the piers!. She says that she's prepared to get things done and Jerry says, "Then I'll guess you'll understand this!." He pulls out a knife and stabs her in the abdomen!.

I think he was probably trying to cover his tracks to anything that linked him to Michael's shooting!. Ian's dead, so he probably figured why not get rid of Claudia too, as it's obvious she has no pull in the Z organization right now, since Anthony is back!. Jerry probably figures it would be easier to get rid of Claudia and try and work something out w/Trevor and Anthony than get his hands dirty getting rid of Anthony, in the hopes that Claudia MIGHT help him!. Jerry is very much about "what's in it for me"!. He may be charming, but the evil Mr!. Craig always lurks beneath the surface, and Mr!. Craig is all about looking out for #1!.
That's my take on it, at least!. I have to say, a mean little part of me was kind of glad Jerry stabbed her!. She deserves some payback for what happened to Michael and, in my opinion, she kind of had this coming to her!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think there could be many possibilities
1!. he wants to get rid of the only person who could tie him to ordering the hit that almost killed micheal!.
2!. by stabbing her he is leaving room for her to get close to her father!. she isnt going to say that jerry stabbed her but Az may regret the way he has treated her once he realised that he could lose her and try to repair their relationship and get her more involved!.
3!. also it could be to make AZ crazy with rage and bent on finding who stabbed his daughter!.
4!. or just a means to say that Az was trying to kill her to shut her up!. they will try to frame the hit on sonny that lead to micheal being comatose on AZ and get him put back in prison!. i think this one is unlikely tho!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think Jerry wanted to eliminate the only link between him and Michael's shooting!. Since Ian is dead, Claudia is the only one who could implicate him!.

Well!.!. I think the OBZVIOUS answer is to get rid of anything/anyone linking Jerry to Michaels shooting!. BUT since soap are never good at taking the OBVIOUS road!.!. I am going to guess that he did not stab her to kill her but to injure her badly enough to facilitate a closer relationship to her father!.
