Question: Top Chef: Does anyone else think that with each new season!.!.!.!.!?
the contestants get more and more arrogant and disrespectful towards the judges!?!? In the first season(s) the chefs accepted the judges' critiques gracefully!.!.!. in this season a lot of them have talked back in disagreement!.!.!.!. What's up with that!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I honestly believe that people have watched past season's and they come in feeling like they "know" the judges on a personal level!. Although they are meeting for the first time they are more comfortable speaking their mind than the chefs from season 1!. This goes for any reality show!. The longer it's on the air, the more arrogant the contestants are when they compete!.
Look at American Idol!. I don't recall anyone from season 1 talking back to Simon!. Now they speak back to him and a few have shot themselves in the foot for doing it!.
I also think that the people casting these shows pick 50% of the people for their personality to liven up the show who really have no chance of winning and the other 50% can actually cook and do this for a living!. Top Chef would be boring if they didn't have some conflict and passion!.!. but there is a fine line between defending yourself and just being a jerk!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think a lot of them feel strongly about their dish and disagree with what the judges think!. Most that have disagreed have been when the public liked their food and the judges did not!.
