My vote- Early 90's Guiding Light!. Seriously could have been a primetime weekly drama!. It had the decadence, writing, and all the great actors who are either movie stars, appearing in primetime now, or are the most coveted and on other soaps now!. Not to mention, the late, great Michael Zaslow as Roger Thorpe, the greatest villain in the history of television, including J!.R!. R!.I!.P!. Beverlee McKinsey!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i'm gonna have to agree with u tim!. more than any other soap i would have to say i was addicted to gl during the '90s!. i loved roger he was so bad he was good!. i loved holly too and miss her!. i wish they would bring her back with her mentally retarded daughter as a teen!. it would be interesting to do a sl on the 2 of them!. i miss the old phillip and rick sl's too!. they were good friends who competed for everything!. rick was the good guy but phillip always got what he wanted!. i really wish the would bring back some of those great characters!. they brought something to the show that it is missing now!. i miss danny and michelle too!.

From what I've heard, GH in the 80's set the gold standard for the entire genre!. Granted I was born in '88 so I wasn't actually watching then, but the clips I've seen manage to combine action, adventure *and* romance in a way that current GH completely fails!. The main characters were good people who did bad things, acknowledged that their actions were bad, and paid for it!. Now, the main characters are bad people who do bad things and are constantly held up as moral paragons, and there's nothing dramatic about that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
late 70's-late 80's GH-Gloria Monty was the Queen of soap producers ( she must be turning in her grave with the garabage GH has become)---I still have the cover and story from Newsweek of Luke & Laura and I have over 12 edit tapes of GH from the golden age

GH has always been the best of the best, but in the 80s to mid 90s GH was at the top of their game!. They still are but the stories were better and they didn't all revolve around the mob!Www@Enter-QA@Com
