I don't think she should have paid him - or told Sonny!. What I think she should have done, was arrange to set up a "payment" meeting with him, then she should have contacted Jason and let him deal with Devlin by showing up instead of her!. Then Sonny wouldn't have to even have known that she was involved, cuz you know how he is with the "betrayal" thing!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
i think she should have known it was a dumb thing to do cuz regardless of her reasons sonny would see it as a betrayal!. kate doesnt listen to anybody but kate!. sonny has told her to stay out his work, that he wont change his life, that he would get vengence for micheal!. what made her think that she would be able to change these things!. he didnt change for any of his previous women, he didnt even change for his kids!. kate is dumb to think that she could save sonny from himself!. she should have told sonny or jason that devlin shot micheal!. if she went to the police sonny would also see that as betrayal, even tho it would be the right thing to do!. also if she went to the police ian could have just lied and said he never spoke to kate and it would be his word against hers!.!.!.the cops wouldnt be able to hold him!. hence the best thing would have been to tell sonny everything instead of paying off devlin!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I can definitely see where she was coming from !.!.!. she was basically broadsided when she went out and Devlin was just there, in her face! It was the last thing she expected to hear him confess to shooting Michael, then in the same breath, make threats against Sonny!. I can't say what the right thing to do was, because we all react differently !.!.!. especially when we can't think!. It's possible that she might've done things differently if she could go back and change things !.!.!. but we all know what they say about hindsight!

I think she was stupid to pay off Devlin!. She had no reason to protect that man!. I know she thought she was protecting Sonny, but really, all she was doing was helping a criminal escape!. I can understand that she didn't want Sonny to act out in vengence, but then she should have just called the police!. Whatever happened to Devlin once he was in police custody would not have been her responsibilty!. Turning him in to the cops would have been the right thing to do!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The whole thing didn't make sense!. Devlin had ten million from Nic so why did he need anymore and why from Kate!? I thought he was going to end up being her brother--but he was killed off before anything came of his character--another wasted storyline!. I can see the Sonny had a death wish but it was wrong and will cost her dearly but push her into the arms of JaxWww@Enter-QA@Com

It was one of the biggest mistakes she could have made!. It cost her Sonny and could put her in prison if anyone else finds out!.
