Jeff Archuleta, against American Idol consultants' orders, convinced little David to slip in a lyric from the recent hit, Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" into David's performance of "Stand By Me"!. American Idol did not own the rights to the song, so had to pay millions & millions of dollars due to copyright violation!.
also, it recently surfaced that since the top 24, Jeff was reportedly harassing staff & other contestants, & even intimidating fellow contestants immediately before they took the stage!. It was the lyric change that was the final straw for the American Idol producers, though!. About time!
Many people dismiss his dad's ban from being backstage, but they are in fact true!. Not only was the report on TMZ!.com, CNN!.com, & the Yahoo! homepage, but was also on the Evening News, my local news station, & my local newspaper (San Jose Mercury News, if you wanted to check it out)!.
I believe people deny these facts to defend little David!. However, this is a true story, not a rumor, & denying it will get little David no further, so people need to accept the truth!.
I feel really bad for little David, because he is such a sweet guy!. People might associate his terrible father in a negative connotation toward David Archuleta, & that would be really sad! Even though I want David Cook to win (though I doubt that will happen because of VFTW now), I wouldn't feel too good about David Archuleta losing votes due to his father's negligence!. It seems his dad had David add some lyrics to Stand By Me even after the producers told him no because it would cost money!. In the beginning, I was hesitant to believe the "strong-arm stage dad" story, but after seeing a picture of he hometown event, in which David's dad is on stage standing right behind him as if he's the one being cheered, I'm more inclined to believe it!.
