Law & Order character found dead in trunk of car?!

Hi, a little while ago there was a Law & Order (original series) episode re-run where the team discovers a dead woman in the trunk of a car at the end of the episode; she was bloody and apparently murdered!. I didn't catch her name, but I was under the impression that she was either a central character to the series or one of the defense attorneys who make occasional appearances from time to time!.
