I have heard both did well but I think Ryan said they don't allow the song to chart on iTunes because it would effect the competition!.

Every single week (except for last week) David Cook has been #1 on the iTunes chart, so it was definitely David Cook!.
Hallelujah was the most popular Jason Castro song (I loved it), but it never beat any of David's songs!.

I think that 'Billie Jean' by David Cook did better than Jason Castro's 'Hallelujah!.' People want to WATCH Jason perform, not HEAR him!. David Cook has a lot better vocals than Jason and I think that people liked David's 'Billie Jean' better anyway!. 'Imagine' by David Archuleta did a lot better than both of them, though!.
