This is information as to why Kate paid off Ian!. Kate doesn't want sonny to know it was Ian and not Anthony!. No one out side of Claudia, johnny, Ian, and Jerry!. Why would she save Michael's shooter!? She is very conflicted about this!. She is conflicted about taking sonny's closer away from him!. She believes she in a position to change the course of sonny's life!. He's claustrophobic; she doesn't want him to go to jail!. And she doesn't want him to make immortal choice to end somebody Else's life in order to take vengeance!. The cost of sonny's soul!? One million dollars!. But where would Kate get that much dough!? I don't know one phone call and Ian could be dead in under ten minutes to me this is a set up to a new story line nothing stays secret for long either she will borrow the money from crimmson and Jax will find out and want to know what the money was for (Kate is a bad lier) or Spinelli will find this account and trace it back to Kate Kate is a very powerful woman, I am sure she has millions stock piled somewhere or Kate will crack and tell Sonny and bam Ian is dead on the spot either way Kate and Ian are going to be found out and that is the end of Sonny and Kate!.

Yawn!. They already did this storyline when Alexis was pregnant, and Carly embezzled money from the club she owned with Jax in order to pay Alexis' old law firm to call her back to Manhattan so Sonny wouldn't find out the baby was his!. I believe it was ten million dollars back then, though!. I guess lawyers are more expensive than hitmen-slash-surgeons!?

I don't know why she is willing to pay him off!. I guess so Sonny can't kill him but he can still go after the Z's, they are the ones who hired him! Dr D had no reason to want Sonny dead otherwise!
