I dont think you ever see people in soaps doing the mundane day to day things we all have to do!. Looking after the kid with projectile vomitting, cleaning the dog mess, laundry, and so on!.

Well yes and no! We would not want to watch if they were more real but at least if someone is gonna be watching over someone's death bed in the hospital or you are on your death bed, don't wear makeup and nice clothes!. When my son was in the hospital I lived in sweats and t shirts! also when you are in prison, don't have tailored jumpsuits, perfect makeup and heels! An no I don't neglect my stuff to do at home b/c I watch soaps, I can multitask! Do you neglect things in your life while you watch tv!. Granted some people get lost about reality( only a very few who have mental issues) in soaps, we all know they are for entertainment purposes only!. I would worry about the Star Trek people who spend their days speaking in weird languages that do not exist and dressing in costumes!Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, if I wanted to watch mundane day to day life I would just watch myself in a mirror!. That is why soaps are not realistic and pro-ballplayers are athletic and paid well and not beered up middle-aged 9-to-5ers!. That would be more realistic, wouldn't it!?
As far as laziness goes - if there are some woman who think people really live that way and become lazy it is a small, very small percentage of us!. Those who are lazy will be that way no matter what they watch on TV!.

No, I don't think they should reflect reality more!.!.!. We watch the soaps to get a break from the things you mentioned, plus they're fun to gossip about!.!.!. It's just harmless silliness, really!.
You know, I bet that some people DO live like that (just not around here, in Ohio)!.!.!. And if they do live like that, they probably have hired help to do said chores!. That being said, I'm grown-up enough to separate reality from fiction, and I'm well aware that I do have much more important things to do than watch soaps!.!.!.
